Oracle is the latest tech company to move its headquarters out of California. The company said on Friday it’s moving its headquarters from the Silicon Valley to Austin, Texas.
“Oracle is implementing a more flexible employee work location policy and has changed its Corporate Headquarters from Redwood City, California to Austin, Texas. We believe these moves best position Oracle for growth and provide our personnel with more flexibility about where and how they work,” a spokesperson confirmed to CNBC.
Bloomberg first reported the move.
A bulk of employees can choose their office location, or continue to work from home part time or full time, the company said.

Hunter Biden’s former business partner sent him an email in 2017 saying he did not disclose on his tax returns $400,000 in income from the Ukrainian natural gas company where he sat on the board, according to a copy of the email obtained by NBC News.
The message from Eric Schwerin, then president of Rosemont Seneca Partners, says Hunter Biden would need to “amend” his 2014 returns to reflect the “unreported” income, according to the copy of the email.
“In 2014 you joined the Burisma board and we still need to amend your 2014 returns to reflect the unreported Burisma income,” says the email dated Jan. 16, 2017.

Australia on Friday canceled a roughly $750 million plan for a large order of a locally developed coronavirus vaccine after the inoculation produced false positive test results for H.I.V. in some volunteers participating in a trial study.
Of the dozens of coronavirus vaccines being tested worldwide, the Australian one was the first to be abandoned. While its developers said the experimental vaccine had appeared to be safe and effective, the false positives risked undermining trust in the effort to vaccinate the public.

New York City’s iconic 21 Club restaurant is closing down after 90 years of good food and even better celebrity intrigue.
The restaurant, located on West 52nd Street in Midtown, has told its 148 employees that it has stopped business indefinitely, and that they’ll all be fired in early March, according to a tweet from a CNBC reporter posted Friday.
The eatery opened in 1930 and is “one of America’s most famous speakeasies from the Prohibition Era,” a description from the its Facebook page says.
The restaurant held 10 private dining rooms, including a Prohibition-era wine cellar, and is steeped in legend.
Only Alito and Thomas voted to hear the case. Fan girl favorite Amy Coney-Barrett decided against hearing it too. Good thing we put her on the court huh?

The justices rejected the case, which argued Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia, and Michigan officials altered their state election laws without approval from state legislatures.

A Massachusetts man learned on his 21st birthday that his late father left him a $10 bill to buy his first legal beer — so he celebrated with a heartfelt toast to his old man.
“Almost 6 years ago before my dad passed he gave my sister this 10$ bill to give to me on my 21st birthday so he could buy me my first beer, cheers pops havin this one for you!” Matt Goodman tweeted Sunday, along with a photo of himself sipping suds from a frosty mug.
Goldman, whose father died of cancer in 2014, had no clue his dad had instructed his sister Casey and his mom to keep the beer money a secret until the young man’s milestone birthday.

“Cheer” star Jerry Harris faces several new criminal charges in an indictment made public Friday afternoon.
Harris is charged with child pornography and sex crimes involving four victims in the new seven-count indictment that alleges conduct in Illinois, Florida and Texas. The indictment was released publicly by attorneys for two of Harris’ alleged victims.
Though Harris was originally charged with one count of production of child pornography, the feds have hinted more charges could come. They said Harris sexually assaulted a 15-year-old boy in a public bathroom, tried to persuade another minor to engage in oral sex at cheerleading events, solicited a third for sex and admitted having five to 10 victims in all.
And that’s what this was always about, keeping people indoors and inactive and trying to achieve the goals of imbeciles like Greta Thunberg.

A locked-down pandemic-struck world cut its carbon dioxide emissions this year by 7%, the biggest drop ever, new preliminary figures show.
The Global Carbon Project, an authoritative group of dozens of international scientists who track emissions, calculated that the world will have put 37 billion U.S. tons (34 billion metric tons) of carbon dioxide in the air in 2020. That’s down from 40.1 billion US tons (36.4 billion metric tons) in 2019, according to a study published Thursday in the journal Earth System Science Data.
Scientists say this drop is chiefly because people are staying home, traveling less by car and plane, and that emissions are expected to jump back up after the pandemic ends. Ground transportation makes up about one-fifth of emissions of carbon dioxide, the chief man-made heat-trapping gas.
“Of course, lockdown is absolutely not the way to tackle climate change,” said study co-author Corinne LeQuere, a climate scientist at the University of East Anglia.

There has been plenty of criticism in recent days of the mainstream media’s refusal to cover the New York Post’s bombshell reporting on Hunter Biden ever since the Biden transition issued a press release acknowledging that he was under investigation over his so-called “tax affairs,” but the media went far beyond simply ignoring the controversy.
Washington Post columnist Greg Sargent quickly declared the day after the New York Post first began reporting on the alleged contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop that it was “Trump’s fake new Biden scandal,” calling the allegations “laughably weak.”

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Friday he is suspending indoor dining in New York City indefinitely as of Monday, a result of sustained increase in the five boroughs’ hospitalization and positivity rates. There’s no reopening timeline.
The potential for harsher shutdowns looms large. Mitigating increases in the state’s hospitalization rate has become Cuomo’s top priority — and he recalibrated the state’s micro-cluster model as part of a revised overarching post-holiday plan. The governor has said if any of the state’s 10 regions is projected to hit 90 percent capacity over a three-week period, he would impose a red zone shutdown. That means nonessential businesses, schools and restaurant table service close in a given region for an indefinite time period, a measure reminiscent of spring.
