Joe Walsh Drops Out, Says He’d Rather Help A Socialist Win Than Have A ‘Dictator’

Joe Walsh Says His Radio Show Has Been Canceled

People don’t even want him on a radio show, and he thinks they’re going to vote for him for president?

Via Daily Caller:

Former Republican Rep. Joe Walsh said that his nationally syndicated radio show was canceled Monday, just a day after announcing that he is challenging Donald Trump for president.

“I just found out that I lost my national radio show. So that’s gone, but I figure that might happen, John,” Walsh told CNN’s John Berman.

“I’m running for president. I oppose this president. Most of my listeners support the president. It’s not an easy thing to do to be in conservative talk radio and oppose this president,” said Walsh, who supported Trump until 2017.

Crazy Anti-Trump Folks Tweet Their Encouragement For Walsh Entering Race

Anti-Trump crazies actually think that Republicans would vote for Joe Walsh.

Their delusion is hilarious. And Walsh thinks that being endorsed by these crazies is somehow an asset.

Joe Walsh Says He Will Run As Republican To Primary Trump

This guy is a joke and he’s spent the last two years pushing the resistance line. Trump has over 90% popularity in the party. Neither Walsh or Weld, the other Republican in the race, have any constituency.

Via Fox News:

Former Illinois Congressman Joe Walsh announced Sunday morning that he is running for president as a Republican, challenging President Trump in the GOP primary race.

“Friends, I’m in. We can’t take four more years of Donald Trump. And that’s why I’m running for President,” Walsh tweeted. “It won’t be easy, but bravery is never easy. But together, we can do it.”

The Tea Party favorite sat down with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos for an interview airing Sunday morning, in which he explained why he decided to enter the race.

Matt Walsh: I Am A Gun Owner. I Will Get Rid Of My Gun Under These Simple Conditions.

Via Daily Wire:

The media is making quite a big deal out of the gun owners who are getting rid of their guns in an effort to promote gun control. Well, I am a gun owner, too. I will happily join these people in disarming myself, just as soon as conditions warrant it.

To be more specific, I will get rid of my gun the moment my gun becomes self-aware and develops the ability to go off by itself and shoot people on its own initiative.

I will get rid of my gun as soon as I begin to feel the insatiable urge to become a mass shooter.

I will get rid of my gun if I ever lose half my brain cells and no longer possess the basic competency to store and handle it safely.

I will get rid of my gun if someone can pull out a Bible and show me the verse that makes it a sin merely to own a weapon, or to use it for self-defense.

MSNBC Contributor Joan Walsh: Ivanka Can’t Be Feminist, Clothes Too Girly…

Guess she should dress like an angry lesbian instead.

Via Mediaite:

MSNBC contributor Joan Walsh appeared on MSNBC Live on Sunday and attacked Ivanka Trump for not only briefly sitting in for her father at a G20 summit meeting, but for wearing a “girlie” dress while doing so.

The author of the book, “What’s the Matter with White People?”, believes that Ivanka’s “ornamental” dress was symbolic of “patriarchal, authoritarian societies” where daughters are “property”.

Walsh sai “I don’t mean to sound sexist” just prior to making comments that would likely have been condemned as sexist had they been directed at many women other than the President’s daughter.

“Right. With big bows on her sleeve. I mean, I don’t mean to sound sexist — it can be dangerous to comment on what women wear — but the fact that she sat in for her father in a dress that was so incredibly ornamental was such a contradiction in terms”, Walsh said. “And I think that what we see is that in patriarchal, authoritarian societies, daughters have great value — they are property. And the message that she is sending about her own value, about her place in the White House, and about the place of women in this administration, I think, are really frightening.”

Rep. Ellison Calls For DOJ To Investigate Joe Walsh Tweet Criticizing Obama

Screen Shot 2016-07-16 at 9.07.05 PM

Joe Walsh's tweet is terrorism to him, but actual threats to kill cops by Black Lives Matter and actual terrorism by Islamists are not really terrorism.

Via Politico:

Rep. Keith Ellison on Friday asked the Justice Department to investigate whether a former U.S. congressman’s tweet “constitutes a terroristic threat against” President Barack Obama, warning that its language could “incite violence.”

Following a shooting spree on Dallas police officers last week during a peaceful Black Lives Matter protest, former Illinois Rep. Joe Walsh declared, “This is now war.” The gunman who carried out the attack in Texas was a black man who admitted that he wanted to kill police officers, specifically white ones. Five officers died, and nine others were wounded.

“Watch out Obama,” Walsh said in a now-deleted tweet from June 7. “Watch out black lives matter punks. Real America is coming.”

In a letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch on Friday, Ellison (D-Minn.) asked for an investigation into Walsh’s tweet.

“The tweet was subsequently deleted, but still went viral as members of the media and the public found and shared the statement,” Ellison said. “While Mr. Walsh claims that he did not intend to incite violence, he continues to stand by his statement, citing that the President is anti-police.”

According to the Chicago Tribune, Walsh also tweeted that he wasn’t calling for violence against anyone but blamed “Obama’s words and BLM’s deeds” for the deaths of law enforcement.

Ellison, citing a statute from the U.S. Code that he said “classifies terrorist threats against the President as a Class E felony offense,” maintained that a threat against anyone is “unacceptable” — especially from someone of Walsh's status.

Lib Hack Joan Walsh: GOP Is “Trying To Reanimate Zombie Reaganism” On Race And Poverty Issues…

Joan Walsh

Is there ever a time she’s not a miserable troll?

Via Newsbusters:

Some pundits have speculated that the Baltimore riots may benefit Republicans in next year’s elections. On the other hand, Joan Walsh of Salon and MSNBC thinks that the unrest has yielded an opportunity for liberalism.

In a two-part series, Walsh argued that one lesson of Baltimore is that Democrats’ Bill Clintonesque center-left “approach to race, crime and inequality” has proved inadequate, and that the party now must confront “the big structural issues driving poverty and rising inequality, not the behavior of the poor.” Meanwhile, sniped Walsh, when it comes to those problems the GOP is “still race baiting” and “still stuck in the 1980s.”

“While [the Democratic] party grapples openly with the limits to the legacy of [its] most influential politician,” Walsh wrote, Republicans can’t or won’t “acknowledge that the man who shaped their domestic agenda, Ronald Reagan, is long dead, and a lot of his ideas should have died with him. 2016 will offer the nation a starker choice on these issues than any election in recent memory, and that can only be good for the country.”

From Walsh’s Tuesday piece (bolding added):

Clinton…cared about civil rights and poverty. He saw the way Republicans had used both issues against Democrats since the 1960s and he tried to fight it, even if he had to wade into the swamp of white backlash politics…

His notorious “Sister Souljah” moment during the 1992 campaign; his crime and welfare reform policies; his railing against “big government;” all were tailored to reassure white people that Democrats had heard their concerns about the excesses of the war on poverty, and would incorporate the politics of personal responsibility into future efforts to promote equality…

…[O]n Obama’s watch, we’ve come up hard on the limits of the ’90s approach to race, crime and inequality…

…[O]ur first black president continues to preach the importance of personal responsibility in improving black lives, even as police murder black men on camera. His opponents don’t care: they continue to stereotype Obama as a lazy, criminal-coddling, poverty pimp of old…

Salon’s Perpetually Miserable Joan Walsh: It’s Racist For White People To Applaud Black Baltimore Mom For Whooping Her Wannabe-Rioter Son’s Ass…

Screen Shot 2015-04-29 at 3.25.32 PM

Hmmm, why do I get the feeling Joan Walsh feels guilty for being white?

Via Salon:

Baltimore’s “Hero Mom” has a name. It’s Toya Graham.

And the woman lionized nationwide for beating her 16-year-old son on camera, and dragging him away from Monday night’s riots, doesn’t feel at all like a hero.

“I don’t. I don’t,” Graham told CBS “This Morning” on Wednesday. “My intention was just to get my son and have him be safe.” Later in the interview, Graham confesses, “I just lost it.” (Watch the whole thing at the end of this post.)

Her moment of losing it made her a hero to much of white America – and not just to the right. Coast to coast, the media is hyping Graham as “Hero Mom” and her on-camera beating as “Tough Love.” It’s not just Fox News or the “New York Post,” whose tabloid “Send in the Moms” front page this time reflects rather than rebukes the mainstream media. And that’s heartbreaking.

The debate over the moment Graham says she “lost it” is complex. There’s a parallel black debate going on that, as always when it comes to racial issues, is richer and more nuanced. But anyone white who’s applauding Graham’s moment of desperation, along with the white media figures who are hyping her “heroism,” is essentially justifying police brutality, and saying the only way to control black kids is to beat the shit out of them.

I’m aware that a lot of African Americans are lauding Graham, too. This piece isn’t directed at them. Whether they applaud or critique Graham’s corporal punishment, most black people debating the issue acknowledge that the desperate public beating came from centuries of black parents knowing they have to discipline their children harshly, or else white society will do it for them – and they may not survive it.

The hypocrisy of the white mainstream applauding Graham is sickening. Let’s be honest: many white folks are reflexive critics of the greater frequency of corporal punishment in the black community.  Witness the media horror at Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson beating his young son. If Graham beat her child like that in the aisles of CVS, you can be sure somebody would call CPS.

Lib Crank Joan Walsh: The Police Are “Predators,” Most Violent Protesters Are White…

Joan Walsh

The perpetually miserable Joan Walsh strikes again.

Via Salon:

I grew up in New York in the 1960s and 70s saying a prayer whenever I heard a siren – a prayer for whomever the siren wailed, and a prayer for the men behind the siren, the policemen and firemen risking their lives every day, my uncles (and later cousins) among them. That’s what my mother taught me. I still find myself doing it sometimes.

As I got older, I learned the police weren’t seen as protectors, especially in black communities. They were sometimes viewed as predators, in New York, and across the country. My first national news story, as an adult, profiled the 1981 Milwaukee protest movement that emerged when a young black man, Ernie Lacy, died in police custody after a cop pinned him to the ground with a knee to the neck. It was a case similar to Eric Garner’s – in front of witnesses, but before the days of cell phone cameras. (Five officers were eventually convicted not of killing Lacy but of failing to provide first aid.) So I have struggled to reconcile those contradictory views of police – heroes or brutes – my entire adult life. […]

Most protests against police abuse are peaceful. Sure, there are a few saboteurs smashing windows and punching cops, but you’ll also see a whole lot of protesters trying to stop them – and it seems most of the violent folks are white.

Lib Crank Joan Walsh: “It’s The Height of White Entitlement To Blame Obama For Worsening Race Relations”…

Joan Walsh

My idea of what Hell is like: Waking up everyday next to Joan Walsh.

Via Salon:

There are few ideas more specious than the notion that the election of President Obama marked the transition to a “post-racial” era in American history. So of course, wrong-way Bill Kristol believed that, as he told radio host Hugh Hewitt Monday night. But of course, that’s not all Kristol got wrong.

Kristol says that instead, Obama worsened race relations – and deliberately, for political gain. Here’s what he told an admiring Hewitt, who shares his point of view.

“President Obama and Eric Holder have done damage to race relations. I mean, I really am personally distressed about this. It’s one of the things I didn’t like President Obama when we elected him, and I was unhappy when he was reelected, and don’t like his policies at all. But the one thing I did think honestly is that maybe he would sort of… you know, improve race relations.” […]

Electing our first black president didn’t end racism, or racial tension in America. In fact, it focused a lot of African Americans on how many barriers to equality remain. That in turn has made some white people uncomfortable, because they hoped putting a black man in the Oval Office would mean the struggle was over – even if they didn’t vote for him, like Kristol.

It’s the height of white entitlement to blame Obama for worsening race relations. But I’d expect no less from Kristol, the very face of nepotism and privilege.

Salon’s Lib Crank Joan Walsh Says Mary Landrieu’s Calls For Approving Keystone Driven By Racism…

Joan Walsh

There is something seriously wrong with this woman.

Via Salon:

Only Democrats do this. Only Democrats chase voters they will never win with actual, serious policy concessions, not merely cultural gestures – take Sen. Rand Paul praising the “romance” of Latin culture while opposing immigration reform. Or empty promises – like eight years of George W. Bush promising federal action to overturn Roe v. Wade and outlaw abortion, but doing next to nothing in the eyes of angry antiabortion groups.

Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu is trying to get her party to force President Obama to OK the Keystone XL pipeline this week. And while the DSCC pulled the plug on her race financially – ads by challenger Rep. Bill Cassidy outnumber Landrieu ads 24-1 — some Democrats are joining Landrieu to demand Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid give Landrieu’s proposal a vote in the Senate. “The Senate has reached an agreement to debate and vote on Senator Landrieu’s Keystone bill,” Reid spokesman Adam Jentleson told the National Journal on Wednesday. […]

But this gambit is unlikely to help Landrieu. The pipeline doesn’t even come through Louisiana – it stops at Texas. The jobs it creates are mostly temporary; an otherwise favorable State Department report found the pipeline would ultimately create 35 permanent full-time jobs. Even worse politically, the House legislation is sponsored by her opponent, Bill Cassidy, which should offset any potential political bump for Landrieu there. Her tiny chance of winning the runoff relies on motivating and turning out Democrats, and there’s no evidence pushing a Keystone vote will do that.

What Keystone does is let Landrieu poke a sharp stick in the eye of Obama, much hated by her white constituents. Any points Landrieu got for politely pointing to the role of race in Obama-hate are swept away by this craven move.
