These people do drugs? I’m flabbergasted!

(Washington Examiner) — Occupy DC held an emergency meeting Tuesday afternoon to alert campers in McPherson Square that law enforcement may raid the camp sometime in the next 48 hours.

Kelly Canavan told fellow Occupiers to pack bags of belongings and be ready to go in case they were kicked out of the park. Nearby faith groups were ready to give them food and shelter in case that happens, she said.

The Occupiers were also reminded to remove illegal substances, such as knives, alcohol and drugs, including cocaine, from their tents.

Canavan told The Washington Examiner after the meeting that she and others had heard from several sources that the camp might be raided soon. She did not expect to be kicked out, but expected the tents to be searched.
