Attention criminals: Go rob these people.

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — “Occupy LA” protesters will take on the Los Angeles Police Department in court Friday.

Attorneys for the movement have filed court papers seeking a restraining order that would prevent police from clearing their encampment without notice.

City attorneys are expected to oppose that request in court Friday. Officials say the lawn of City Hall is not suitable for a permanent encampment and protesters will eventually have to move.

Chief Deputy City Attorney William Carter tells the Los Angeles Times that protesters are now saying they have the right to notice before being moved because the city council supports the demonstration as long as it remains peaceful.

All of this comes one day after 72 people were arrested during massive rallies, which marked the two-month anniversary of the “Occupy Wall Street” movement.
