These people take themselves way too seriously.

(The Tennessean) — Members of Occupy Nashville created a scene during a panel discussion featuring former defense secretary Donald Rumsfeld Thursday night at the Hilton Hotel.

The group released a statement at about 8:40 p.m. saying they shouted, “I call upon you to surrender yourself as a war criminal,” at Rumsfeld, who was the keynote speaker.

The panel discussion, they said, lauded the increased militarization of the world.

An anonymous donor paid for four Occupy members to attend the $125-a-plate event. Security escorted each member of the group out of the building after they stood up and interrupted Rumsfeld’s speech, the release said.

A group of about 40 Occupy protesters waited outside the building waving signs, handing out fliers and chanting, “Hey Donald, you can’t hide! We charge you with genocide!”

Members of Occupy Nashville said their actions were part of a nationwide Day of Action to celebrate the two-month anniversary of Occupy Wall Street.
