Two billion to kill a single guy (so the French and British can buy cheap oil) and he considers this a success?

Plymouth, New Hampshire (CNN) — Vice President Joe Biden lauded NATO for its role in tracking down ousted Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, but said he could not confirm whether the dictator had been killed or captured.

“NATO got it right and guess what? Libya, Gadhafi, one way or another is gone,” Biden said Thursday during a question and answer period after a jobs speech in Plymouth, New Hampshire. “Whether he is alive or dead he is gone.”

Biden defended the United States’ role in the Libyan conflict, a move which came under intense fire from conservatives in the House of Representatives earlier this year. Some members faulted the president for not seeking Congress’ approval before joining with NATO in the conflict.

“In this case America spent two billion dollars total and didn’t lose a single life. This is more the prescription for how to deal with the world as we go forward than it has been in the past,” Biden said. “So this is an example of how the world is beginning to work together a little bit better.”
