Imagine the outrage if someone like Sarah Palin said people should “aim their wrath” at Obama? The left would go ballistic claiming she’s inciting violence.
(USA Today) — ESPN has been putting out fires as talent such as Hank Williams Jr. and Paul Azinger wade into politics with their own opinions. Now, on-air commentator Mike Lupica is calling for the “Occupy Wall Street” protesters in New York to “aim their wrath” at President Obama in Washington.
Lupica, longtime panelist on ESPN’s The Sports Reporters and host of The Mike Lupica Show on ESPN 1050 radio in New York wrote Friday the protesters should “start yelling about a President who often looks like the Fundraiser-in-Chief, trying to keep his job backed by what might become the richest campaign in history, in a jobless country going broke.”
Writes Lupica in his New York Daily News column:
Say this about the state of the country nearly three years into the Obama administration: If this President didn’t create this economic mess, he hasn’t done very much to get us out of it. At a time when there is this amazing shout from the streets — and even as those on the right sneer about “these people” down in Zuccotti Park as if their dissent is a form of dirty terrorism — Obama and his people will raise a billion dollars if they have to so they can keep him in office. At a time when the protesters, and God bless them, put big money and big corporations on notice, how long before they go after the corporation that is the Obama campaign, just so they don’t look like part of it?
