Hey, it’s not like Obama was “instrumental” in helping the company obtain a taxpayer-funded loan or anything . . . no, wait?

Here’s what you need to know from Thursday’s White House briefing with press secretary Jay Carney:

  • President Obama hasn’t been briefed about the questions raised over Solyndra’s loan, Carney said. “I think he’s probably read some news accounts of it,” he said. “There’s not a lot to brief him about.”
  • Carney insisted that “there’s no evidence that the White House was involved in the loan,” but that rather it was a scheduling decision about which the administration was concerned.
  • Democrats “broadly support the American Jobs Act, yes,” Carney said, despite a flood of reports saying that’s not the case.
