The silver lining is of course the more time he spends fundraising the less time he has to screw up the country.

(Politico) — President Obama is returning to New York City on Thursday and is looking to raise big money for his reelection campaign.

Obama has three fundraisers planned in the Big Apple. The first one, at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers, is for gay supporters and coincides with the evolution, so to speak, of a bill in the state that would make gay marriage legal.

The audience at his second Democratic National Committee fundraiser of the night, at the four-star restaurant Daniel, will be made up of Wall Street donors.

And the last event of the evening, at Broadway, will be with Whoopi Goldberg.

Of course the downside is Obama’s campaign war chest is going to be big enough to pay down the national debt.
