All he has to do is golf another 7-trillion times and we’re in the clear.
(ABC News) — The Obama White House claims the weekend golf outing for the President and Speaker John Boehner is going to make difficult work on the issues “easier.”
“Not to resolve the disagreements or the challenges that the leaders share,” Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters, “but to help create an environment where the talks as they go forward on deficit reduction, on dealing with the debt ceiling vote on all the issues that leaders in Congress and the administration have to deal with, it makes all of these conversations a little easier, a little more collegial. And that makes the outing entirely worthwhile.”
Carney insists President Obama “enjoyed partnering with the speaker. He enjoyed winning with the speaker.” According to the White House, they won $2 off of Vice President Biden and Ohio Governor John Kasich. When asked whether that should go to help pay down the government’s $14 trillion budget deficit, Carney smiled.
“Maybe we can do that,” he answered.
