Weiner is toxic.
(The Hill) — Rep. Betty Sutton’s (D-Ohio) reelection campaign is giving money donated by Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) to charity.
Sutton will donate $1,000 to a shelter for homeless women and a nonprofit for American veterans. The $1,000 is the amount of money Weiner’s campaign committee donated to Sutton’s campaign last year according to the Cleveland Plains Dealer.
Sutton’s decision to donate the money comes after Weiner admitted on Monday to sending a lewd photo of himself to a woman in Washington state through Twitter. Weiner also admitted on Monday to having had “inappropriate” correspondence with six women over the last three years.
The National Republican Congressional Committee sent emails to voters in Sutton’s district and 17 others asking if their Democratic representatives would give back campaign donations from Weiner. A spokesman for Sutton said that her decision to give back the money was so she could continue to do the job she was elected to do in Ohio.
