Weiner should be firmly under the Obama bus by the end of the day.
(Politico 44) — The White House has so far avoided answering any questions about the Anthony Weiner scandal, but Bill Burton, a former spokesman for President Obama, said Tuesday morning that Nancy Pelosi’s call for an ethics investigation is “the right thing.”
“I think this is going to run its course and everybody’s going to have all the information,” Burton, who left the White House to start a so-called super PAC to support Obama’s reelection campaign, said in an interview on MSNBC.
Burton predicted that Weiner’s admission that he lied about sending a picture of his crotch to a young woman will have an “impact on how much he can be out there right now” advocating for liberal causes. But he said Weiner “did the right thing by setting the record straight” with his tearful press conference on Monday.
