Democrats are in trouble in Wisconsin again.
Via Townhall:
All eyes have been on the Democrats as they duke it out for the party nomination. Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) has a momentum that is worrying his opponents, and rightfully so. He was tied with former South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg for first place in Iowa. He pulled off a narrow victory in New Hampshire. But is he too far left for the general election?
According to former Obama 2008 campaign spokesman Zach Friend, both Sanders and President Donald Trump share the same base but if Democrats choose a moderate, he or she could win the general election.
“I think they have the same base actually. I think that that’s what’s interesting about this. And so you end up creating a situation, a person that can actually grow is a person that can win,” Friend told Fox News’ Harris Faulkner. “I think the Democrats nominate somebody that’s moderate, which most of [the] Democrats actually self identify as either moderate to conservative, they’ll win next election.”
Faulker reminded Friend of a new Quinnipiac University poll that shows President Trump beating every single one of the 2020 Democrats in Wisconsin. The poll shows Trump receiving 49 to 51 percent of the vote over each of the candidates. The only one to come closest to Trump is Sanders, who polled at 43 percent, compared to Trump at 50 percent.
