A hero plumber won over hearts after he rushed to repair a dying elderly woman’s boiler and charged her nothing.
James Anderson was called out to fix the 91 year-old’s leaked boiler on September 8, but after arriving at her Burnley home found her on palliative care for advanced stage leukaemia, a cancer which attacks healing white blood cells.
When the work was done he handed her an invoice totalled “0.00”, and vowed to be on standby 24 hours a day should she need help again.
Mr Anderson, who runs company Depher C.I.C, short for Disabled and Elderly Plumbing and Heating Emergency Response, which offers discounted and free repairs for the old and vulnerable, had been drafted in by the woman’s daughter, Christine.
Chrstine was concerned about her severely ill mother going cold inside the walls of her home.
