Multiple small explosive devices have been found on a property near the Labor Day parade route that New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy was supposed to be marching in Monday morning, senior law-enforcement officials tell NBC 4.

The South Plainfield Labor Day parade and fireworks display was canceled Monday morning due to a “security concern.” The borough issued the cancelation on Facebook saying police were conducting an investigation into the matter.

A senior New Jersey law-enforcement official told NBC 4 that multiple small explosive devices were found on a man’s home and in wooded areas along his property.

There was no indication an of the devices were planted, however the man’s home was close to the parade route, so officials decided to cancel the parade as a precaution, they said.
