Fox News host Tucker Carlson argued Tuesday that Americans should be grateful to Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar for exposing the dangers of the broken U.S. immigration system.

Carlson began by saying that, contrary to the claims of 2020 Democratic presidential candidates, the U.S. is not an awful country, but rather “the kindest, most open-minded place on the planet.”

“The U.S. has done more for other people and received less in return than any nation in history by far,” he said, then went on to explain how Omar’s family were able to find refuge in America from the Marxist dystopia of Somalia in 1992.
