Ted Cruz schooled Colin Kaepernick after Kaepernick tried to quote Frederick Douglass out of context. Cruz provided the context showing how basically it showed the opposite of Kaepernick’s attack on America.
But that apparently wasn’t permissible to NY Times editorial board member Mara Gay:

Because the NY Times thinks they have the right to tell Americans who they can and cannot quote.
But Ted Cruz responded:
