Google has removed an app from its online store after The Sunday Times revealed it contained anti-semitic rhetoric. The Euro Fatwa App, launched last month by the European Council for Fatwa and Research (ECFR), based in Clonskeagh, Dublin 14, is said to be a guide for Muslims based in Europe.

The app’s introduction is written by Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who is regarded as the spiritual head of the Muslim Brotherhood. He has been banned from the UK and France for extolling extremist views.

In the app’s introduction, al-Qaradawi speaks about previous fatwas (rulings on Islamic law) during which he makes a defamatory reference to Jews.
