An obscure 1924 law gives the House Ways and Means Committee the power to REQUEST tax returns from the Treasury Department to review in CLOSED session. Meaning not disclosed. Separation of powers issues,can NOT force the Dept. of Treasury to hand over the president’s tax returns.

And even then you would have to have a legislative purpose. Opposition research for 2020 is not a sufficient legistlative purpose.
