Jussie Smollett says those questioning his account are racially motivated:

Of course. It isn’t because his story makes no sense, it’s because of race.
Via Twitchy:
Unbelievable (but, totally believable).
Actor Jussie Smollett played the race card in his interview on “Good Morning America,” telling Robin Roberts that if “I had said it was a Muslim, or a Mexican, or someone black, I feel like the doubters would have supported me much more”:
Let’s recap: Smollett and his manager have both told police that they were on the phone to each other at the time of the alleged attack and that they both heard “MAGA country!” This would be something that could be cleared up with investigators in like 30 seconds, yet the Chicago Police Department’s most recent statement was that the phone records handed over “do not meet the burden of a criminal investigation.”
