FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WZTV) – One Michigan family went on a beach vacation they’ll never forget. After making the trek from Battle Creek, Michigan to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Greg Gay was shocked with what he discovered on the beach.

Greg and his family quickly checked into the Ocean Manor Beach Resort and jetted out to the sand to find a giant wooden cross covered in barnacles Saturday afternoon. Greg believes the cross is at least 20 ft. tall and made out of a 10 by 10 inch timber.

“Timing is everything. Had we been 10 minutes before or 10 minutes later and it wouldn’t have came up to us.,” Greg told FOX 17 News. “We think it was divine timing.”
