No video has yet been found of the attack.
Police have said that there is about a minute when he is off video, he then reappears entering a condo, with the thin rope worn like a neck tie, past building security, says nothing to them and goes to an elevator. Police are not called until about 40 minutes after that.
So if there was an attack, it would have to have taken place in under a minute and include time to walk into the condo, meaning the window is really only seconds.
Both he and his manager have said they were on the phone at the time of the attack. But the police have said that he refused to turn over his phone and he and his manager have also refused to turn over any phone records to confirm that. And it sounds like the police aren’t going to demand they do so.
Smollett’s alleged injuries consisted of scratches on his face. He claims he was punched in the face.
Smollett is virulently anti-Trump. Here’s a sample:
Shut the hell up you bitch ass nigga. You will continue to run this country further into the ground and risk lives every time you breathe. You’re not the president. Just a dumpster full of hate. FOH. Sick to my stomach that literal shit currently represents America to the world. https://t.co/qoNWllmZIm

Doesn’t sound like “leading with love.”
