Today is the 46th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision in Roe v. Wade — the decision that made it legal for women to make their own health care decisions in privacy.
For the past three years right around the time of the anniversary, we’ve held the Women’s March — in part to reassert our commitment to protect the right to choose. That commitment is incredibly important.
With Trump in the White House, Republicans in control of the Senate, and Judge Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court, Roe v. Wade is more vulnerable than it’s been in years.
If we want to preserve a woman’s right to make their own health decisions, we must continue fighting.
I will do all I can as Speaker of the House to make sure we don’t lose Roe v. Wade.
Thank you for joining me.
Nancy
