So here’s the question. Why were they even going to begin with in the middle of a shutdown? That would have meant there couldn’t be any deal for at least another week. And it’s basically a vanity political visit, Adam Schiff said it was to “reassure NATO allies.” What do they need reassurance of? In other words, they were going to go and undercut Trump.
