A whack job trying to hide his light sabers. Update to this story.

A man who left a pair of bomb-like devices at the offices of KTVQ in Billings had mental health issues, and the suspected explosive objects were intended to be homemade light sabers, according to the Billings Police Department.

Police located and interviewed the 40-year-old Billings man, whose name was not released, before taking him to Billings Clinic for mental health treatment, a Tuesday afternoon press release from BPD Lt. Brandon Wooley stated.

No criminal charges will be filed, and BPD considers the case closed, according to the press release.

“The man suffers from mental health issues and is a fan of ‘Star Wars.’ The ‘suspected devices’ were his homemade light sabers, and (he) said he never had any intention to disrupt or cause alarm,” Wooley wrote. “He left his tote at the Q2 building because he knew they had cameras and felt that is where his property would be safest, as he recently was a victim of theft.”
