President Donald J. Trump touted his accomplishments and continued his push Thursday to get Matt Rosendale elected Nov. 6 to the U.S. Senate, saying Democratic Sen. Jon Tester’s treatment of his Veterans Affairs nominee was the reason he came to Montana.

At a campaign stop in Missoula, his third as president in Montana in recent months, Trump told an estimated 8,000 people during a 60-minute speech that Montana has been good to him.

“We watch Montana,” he said. “And two years ago you watched over me because we won this state by a lot.”

“In just 19 days the people of this incredible state are going to send Matt Rosendale to the U.S. Senate …” he said, adding Rosendale, who is running against incumbent Tester, would protect the Second Amendment right to bear arms and help secure the borders.

“In this election you will decide which party will be in control,” Trump said.

He said Democrats have become party of crime.

“Democrats produce mobs, Republicans produce jobs,” Trump said. “They would rather devastate America’s communities than defend America’s borders.”
