A new low for USA Today.
Via BPR:
Without citing a single piece of evidence, USA Today ran a sensational column Friday that suggested Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh is a pedophile who poses a danger to young girls.
“Brett Kavanaugh testified the other day that he might never coach girls’ basketball again,” sports reporter Erik Brady opined. “He shouldn’t – at least not until further investigation has concluded. The U.S. Senate may yet confirm Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, but he should stay off basketball courts for now when kids are around.”
But instead of offering any arguments or evidence for why the SCOTUS nominee should be banned from coaching, Brady seemed to provide the exact opposite.
In trying to disprove Kavanaugh’s assertion that he may never be able to coach his daughters’ basketball games again, for instance, the USA reporter cited quotes from Edward McFadden, the spokesperson for the Archdiocese of Washington.
McFadden told USA Today that Kavanaugh may continue couching in the Catholic Youth Organization and his daughters’ private school in Washington because, one, he’s never been convicted of sexual misconduct, and two, he’s already been subjected to a through background check.
