The fishing net is getting wider.

The New York Times is reporting that special counsel Robert Mueller has issued a subpoena for right-wing conspiracy theorist Jerome Corsi, who is best known for promoting the unfounded theory that former President Barack Obama was born in Kenya.
Times reporter Maggie Haberman writes that Corsi is being subpoenaed by Mueller for his connections with infamous dirty trickster and longtime Trump ally Roger Stone, who has come under the special counsel’s microscope for his contacts with Russian agents during the 2016 presidential election.
Corsi’s attorney, David Gray, tells Haberman that his client will comply with the subpoena and that he will be asked “about his discussions with Mr. Stone, who appeared to publicly predict in 2016 that WikiLeaks planned to publish material damaging to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.”
In addition to his association with Stone, Corsi has also long worked with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who also promoted the “Birther” conspiracy theory throughout Obama’s presidency.
