Hosts Joy Behar and Meghan McCain engaged in a heated debate about socialism on “The View” Tuesday.
Whoopi Goldberg opened the discussion by discussing New York congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D.) and wondering “if anybody’s discussed the difference between socialism and democratic– I don’t know.”
“Isn’t it more like– Isn’t democratic socialism very close to liberalism?” Behar asked. “I mean think about it for a second. Medicare, Social Security, garbage collection, the post office, the libraries, the fire department. That’s all democratic socialism.”
“I agree with you,” Sunny Hostin said.
