A 48-year-old Mexican man who died in an apparent suicide in Gallatin County jail on Sunday was wanted in Cascade County for the sexual abuse of two girls, ages 13 and 15, according to charging documents filed last week.

Rodolfo Millan-Calderon jumped to his death from the second floor of the detention center in Bozeman on Sunday morning, the Bozeman Daily Chronicle reported.

Sheriff Brian Gootkin says 48-year-old Rudolfo Millan-Calderon was let out of his cell at about 6:30 a.m. Sunday for breakfast. He walked to the second level of the facility and jumped head-first onto the floor below. Emergency medical efforts were unsuccessful and he died at the scene.

Cascade County prosecutors alleged in court documents Millan-Calderon and his family had been residents of Great Falls since July 2016 and were in the U.S. illegally from Mexico.
