The anti-Trump impeachment mob will execute its most ambitious bid for power yet, with Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) announcing that she will run for chair of the House Democratic caucus. Rep. Joe Crowley (D-NY) previously held the leadership post, but will vacate it due to his primary loss to the insurgent Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Lee has twice voted to bring Rep. Al Green’s (D-TX) impeachment proceedings against President Trump to the floor.

In December 2017, she joined 57 of her colleagues in voting to move impeachment proceedings forward. And 65 joined her in January 2018, when the measure came up again.

In an interview with Politico, Lee said that she is running to increase African-American representation in the party’s leadership.
