The resistance strikes again.

A Hamilton Southeastern student is frustrated, after thieves targeted a memorial he built to honor fallen service members.
17-year-old Zach Hughel spent weeks planning and designing his Eagle Scout project, which he finished last fall. The memorial at Arnett Cemetery, just off of 113th Street and Florida Road, features five plaques, each one representing the five branches of the military.
“It’s a memorial dedicated to service and sacrifice U.S. veterans have made,” Hughel said, after drawing inspiration from his own background. “I have a very deep history in my family for military service. My great-granddad on my dad’s side was in World War II. Both my granddads served also in World War II, and my dad served in Vietnam.”
Hughel’s connection to the project made last week’s discovery even more difficult. The plaques he installed were gone. The teen described his reaction: “Very disappointed. Frankly sad. I spent a lot of time working to build this. I have no real clue who would do this. Just someone looking for some kind of kick from it – or just the thrill I guess of stealing something where they think they can get away with it.”
The senseless crime required some effort.
“They would have needed some kind of drill or screwdriver with them to take it,” Hughel explained.
