Despite “hysteria” in the media and a platform of “hate and nonsense” from Democrats, everything “always seems to work out,” President Donald Trump’s oldest son told a crowd of roughly 400 Montana Republicans gathered in Billings Friday night.
“Every time the sky has fallen, and yet, it always seems to work out. We continue to win,” Donald Trump Jr. said. “The only thing Donald Trump ever lied about is that you people would be sick of winning.”
After speeches from Senate candidate Matt Rosendale, State Rep. Greg Gianforte and Sen. Steve Daines, Trump spoke for about 15 minutes at the Billings Hotel and Convention Center. Trump, who attended the dinner with Fox News personality Kimberly Guilfoyle, did say that turning on the TV these days he sometimes feels like he’s watching Comedy Central.
“These people that are pundits representing us, speaking to millions of people on a daily basis, they’re more concerned about the feelings of people in far off lands, people who hate our freedom, they hate our religion, they hate our values, they hate every single thing about us,” Trump said. “If they could push a button and make us disappear off the face of the earth, they would. And we’re sitting there, we’re more concerned about their feelings than we are about the safety and well-being of our kids and grandkids. Not on my watch and certainly not on my father’s watch,” Trump said.
It’s unclear which country with a button Trump was referring to. Earlier in his speech however, he did criticize North Korean experts with decades of experience as having the same track record of success as his 4-year-old daughter.
“They couldn’t even get a meeting doing the same thing over and over again,” Trump said. “That’s the definition of insanity, right? Doing the same thing over and expecting a different result.”
