Kirstjen Nielsen faced a rowdy crowd protesting against her as she sat down for a meal in D.C. on Tuesday night.
Nielsen was at a Mexican restaurant with her staff when protesters yelled towards her saying “shame on Nielsen, shame on Trump.”
A protester on the scene, Emily Horowitz, captured the scene and posted it on social media saying “it seems @SecNielsen has some cojones to be dining at one of DC’s top Mexican restaurants while attempting to justify sending children to concentration camps.”
The Democratic Socialists of America’s D.C. Chapter organized the protest and said in a statement on their Facebook page that “we will not stand by and let Secretary Nielsen dine in peace, while she is directing her employees to tear little girls away from their mothers and crying boys away from their fathers at our border.”
