Former President Bill Clinton doesn’t think he would be elected to any public office in today’s political environment because he doesn’t like “embarrassing people,” according to a new interview that aired Sunday.
“I couldn’t be elected anything now ’cause I just don’t like embarrassing people,” Clinton told CBS, while promoting his forthcoming novel, “The President is Missing.” “My mother would have whipped me for five days in a row when I was a little boy if I spent all my time badmouthing people like this.”
Clinton also said the press was treating President Trump fairly as special counsel Robert Mueller’s federal Russia investigation continues, but added that a Democratic president would already likely be facing congressional impeachment proceedings.
