A Canadian journalist has created outrage on social media over her comments on last weekend’s tragic collision in Saskatchewan that killed 15 members of a junior hockey league team. “Happy socialist” Nora Loreto, who has written for Macleans magazine and the Globe and Mail, suggested that the national grieving was influence by “maleness” and “whiteness.”
After posting, the self-appointed social justice warrior was deluged by angry Twitter users who wondered how she could use the accident as a means to discuss her pet social issues and have “maleness” and “whiteness” intrude upon the tragedy. She was unrepentant about her remarks.
