President Trump on Wednesday responded to Russia’s threat to knock down United States missiles in Syria by declaring, “Get ready Russia” — they will be coming.
”Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria. Get ready Russia, because they will be coming, nice and new and ’smart!,’” Trump wrote on Twitter. “You shouldn’t be partners with a Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it!”
The Russian ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Zasypkin, said Moscow would intercept any rockets fired into Syria.
“If there is a US missile attack, we — in line with both [Russian leader Vladimir] Putin and Russia’s chief of staff’s remarks — will shoot down US rockets and even the sources that launched the missiles,” Zasypkin told Hezbollah state-run media, according to Al Jazeera.
