Memorial services were held Sunday for the heroic 11-year-old who died after jumping into a frozen Queens pond to save his 12-year-old pal.
Hundreds filed through the Glendale funeral home to pay their respects to Anthony Perez, who lay in an open mahogany casket as his mother violently sobbed from the first row.
The 11-year-old wore a striped dress shirt and a Transformer’s watch, and beside him lay a sunglasses emoji pillow, and a baseball cap from “The Flash.”
The young hero plunged into the frigid Forest Park waters to help friend Juan Umpierrez after he fell through the ice. The children had been playing near the pond when the 12-year-old unknowingly ventured onto thin ice.
Perez managed to push Umpierrez back onto safe ground, but couldn’t get out himself. Rescuers attempted to resuscitate him, but were unable to do so.
