A kind-hearted road-tripper who rescued two abandoned puppies from the middle of the desert has taken them on a 30,000 mile journey across North America.
Jordan Kahana, 30, was driving from Los Angeles to Colorado when he spotted the tiny dogs looking frail and vulnerable on the side of a remote road.
The digital director scooped up the creatures and rushed them to an animal hospital, where vets told them the male and female pups were severely dehydrated.
They also revealed that the stretch of highway where the eight-week-olds were dumped, in between Sedona and Page in Arizona, was a ‘hot spot’ for unwanted pets.
But Mr Kahana couldn’t face leaving the dogs behind and decided to adopt them and take them on his adventure.
And since rescuing them in December 2016 they have trundled for roughly 32,000 miles, covering both coasts and visiting 35 US states. They’ve found time for a jaunt to Canada, too.
The trio – who sleep most nights in Mr Kahana’s trusty van – have visited 12 national parks as well as tourist hotspots like Times Square in New York and the Hollywood sign in LA.
