CNN announced Tuesday that it has promoted Jim Acosta to be the network’s chief White House correspondent.

The move was one of several new assignments for CNN’s White House and Washington-based correspondents, which were timed to start with President Donald Trump’s second year in office, according to a statement from the network’s communications team.

The changes are all effective next Monday.

Acosta’s previous title was senior White House correspondent.

Acosta has covered the Obama and Trump White Houses for CNN since 2013, and he has become known for his interruptions at White House press briefings during the Trump administration. Some CNN employees have said that they believe Acosta’s repeated clashes with Trump and his administration are efforts by him to get his own show at the network.
