Linda started with Occupy Wall St and hasn’t had a real job since becoming a ‘professional activist.’ How dare ‘right-wing’ media accurately report what her former employee says? That’s a ‘smear.’

Following accusations that Women’s March co-founder Linda Sarsour enabled the sexual harassment and assault of Asmi Fathelbab, BuzzFeed News got in touch with Sarsour to get her side of the story.

The Brooklyn-born Muslim who has become one of the faces as part of the resistance to President Trump said she initially didn’t think much of the accusations because she’s used to right-wing smear attacks. The original story was published by the Daily Caller, although Fathelbab posted her account on her Facebook first. However, after the president’s son, Donald Trump Jr., tweeted about it, she knew something was amiss.

“Anti-Semitic, terrorist sympathizer, supporter of female genital mutilation — every week they come up with some new stuff about me,” Sarsour told BuzzFeed News. “But when the president’s son is tweeting about me, that’s serious stuff.”

Sarsour, who was running the Arab American Association, worked with Fathelbab, an Americorps employee who was placed with the organization and coordinated the youth program. That much was confirmed in the BuzzFeed article.
