Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, our mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as at over 1,200 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad.

The National Wreaths Across America Day event at Arlington National Cemetery attracted thousands on Saturday.

Veterans and visitors alike attended, and the event honored Col. Roger Donlon, the first Medal of Honor Recipient on the Vietnam War. Col. Donlon spoke to a large crowd at the opening of the event and focused on his wife Norma, saying even though he returned home, Norma made his heart “a prisoner of war.”
