If you said a man would do anything for donations, no one would assume you were saying he was a literal whore. The fact that that’s where some people’s minds go says more about their sexism than about Trump. And USA Today seems to have missed the massive Clinton team effort to say exactly the same thing only a lot meaner by the Clinton team just a couple of weeks ago when Gillibrand briefly left the plantation and criticized Bill Clinton for his sexual assault allegations. Notice how USA Today doesn’t include Bill Clinton in the contrast.
And talk about offensive, such an attack on a president whether you like his politics or not is extremely unseemly and completely unprofessional.
USA Today’s editorial board issued a sharp rebuke of President Trump’s attacks on Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand in which he said she “would do anything” for campaign donations.
“A president who would all but call Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand a whore is not fit to clean the toilets in the Barack Obama Presidential Library or to shine the shoes of George W. Bush,” the paper’s editorial board wrote late Tuesday.
The paper said Trump hit “a new low” with his tweet Tuesday morning saying Gillibrand “would come to my office ‘begging’ for campaign contributions not so long ago (and would do anything for them).”
