An armed robber who attempted to hold up a Florida Walgreens failed to make off with any cash after he was met with an icy stare from the store’s cashier.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office said that an unidentified robber walked into the Walgreens at 1751 Bonaventure Blvd at around 2.30pm on Monday.

Using a red hoodie to obscure his face, he grabbed a few candy bars and an ice cream before making his way to the cashier.

As the clerk processed the transaction, the man in the hoodie suddenly pulled out a handgun, waved it in front of the employee’s face and demanded the money inside the cash register.

Unfortunately for the hooded thief, the ‘stoic clerk stood in quiet resistance’, according to a statement from the sheriff’s department.

‘He didn’t speak. He didn’t move. He simply stared back at the armed man, almost expressionless.’

The suspect finally flees the store after repeated demands for the contents of the cash register go unanswered, making off with only a few sweets in hand.
