Former Democratic political operative Neera Tanden said Wednesday Rupert Murdoch’s house and vineyard catching alight in a wildfire burning near Los Angeles’ Bel Air neighborhood was a vengeful act of God.
“There’s a God. And she’s unhappy,” Tanden, president of left-leaning think tank Center for American Progress, wrote on Twitter Wednesday.
Local media has reported that flames are emanating from Moraga Estate, a palatial $30 million home and vineyard owned by the Fox media mogul in Bel Air.
The 50-acre blaze, called the Skirball Fire for its proximity to the Skirball Cultural Center, has closed part of Interstate 405, a major thoroughfare through the city.
