Hollywood is going to implode.

Via NY Daily News:

Harvey Weinstein accuser Asia Argento and Patricia Arquette — whose sister Rosanna also accused the disgraced film producer of sexual misconduct — are both on the attack against Alec Baldwin for his comments regarding victims of sexual harassment and rape taking settlements.

Baldwin spoke of the “culture of complicity” and questioned if women taking settlements hurts their cause in an interview with PBS NewsHour on Friday. His remarks quickly came under fire, leading him to announce he would be taking a break from Twitter.

“You heard the rumor that (Weinstein) raped Rose McGowan, you heard that over and over. We heard that for decades and nothing was done,” Baldwin said of Hollywood’s inner circle.

The “SNL” alum was questioned why he — or anyone else — chose not to come forward, to which he referenced McGowan’s settlement.

“Well, but what happened was that Rose McGowan took a payment for $100,000 and settled her case with him and it was for Rose McGowan to prosecute for that case,” he said, but later stated that he only recently learned McGowan had reached a settlement with Weinstein over the incident that reportedly occurred in a hotel room at Sundance Film Festival.

The “Charmed” star later broke her nondisclosure agreement by claiming in a Twitter post that Weinstein had raped her.

Baldwin — a colleague of director James Toback, who was also accused by countless women of sexual misconduct — then referred to a piece in the New York Times that questioned if the “settlement of these cases hurt the cause.”

“When women take money and are silenced by that money, even though they took that money and were told beyond the money it was the right thing for them to do,” he said on PBS. “When they do it … does it set back the cause of change? That’s an issue, I think.”
