So here’s the problem.

James Comey has said they began investigating the election meddling, i.e. the DNC hack/Podesta email situation, in 2016.

But here is Mary Anne Marsh, Democratic strategist, who works for Dewey Square Group, a Democratic public affairs consulting firm, saying very definitively, that the investigation of Trump began in spring 2015.

The DNC hack wasn’t known yet, Trump hadn’t even declared in spring 2015. So just exactly what was being investigated? Connections to Russia? He was a private citizen.

Moreover, she says, “Obama was briefed in June 2015.” What?

Ms. Marsh may not understand this. But assuming there was some form of a legitimate FBI investigation into Trump in 2015, it would be improper for them to be informing Obama of the nature of it, particularly given that Trump was of a different political party and had been a declared opponent of President Obama.

“Briefed in June 2015.” Why? Was he briefed when Trump declared? Again, if he was being briefed because he was now a specific candidate against Democrats, that would once again be improper.
