Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) responded to Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), who demanded that House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) be removed from his post.
Schumer criticized Nunes for going to the White House compound to pore over and brief the administration on classified developments in allegations that the Obama administration spied on the Trump campaign.
“I just love it when Senator Schumer gives Republicans advice on what we ought to do,” Gowdy said. “Devin is doing exactly what the chairman is [supposed] to do.”
Schumer made his request because Nunes failed to notify the rest of his committee that he would be making the trip to his “source” on the White House grounds, and that he may have had new information on the case.
