In recent weeks, in the aftermath of losing the 2016 presidential election, Clinton has publicly preached “resistance.” Speaking to the Democratic National Committee winter meeting in a video message last month, Clinton encouraged “resistance plus persistence” for “equal progress.”
She also chided Republican lawmakers who “can’t take the heat” of town halls during this week’s congressional recess after a slew of events where Republicans faced hostile crowds on their home turf.
Earlier in the day on Wednesday, the former secretary of state tweeted out what she was thinking about on International Women’s Day.
“I’m thinking about this young girl, & all the others like her out there,” she said, retweeting a picture that went viral of a message scribbled on a piece of paper, apparently from a fourth grade student. It read: “Do you want to join a club for female empowerment. We are the leaders.”
