A Christian liberal arts college is giving away diversity awards worth thousands of dollars to students or faculty who promote “inclusive excellence,” a “commitment to diversity” or serve a multicultural organization on campus.

Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California offers Diversity Leadership Scholarships worth up to $6,000 to incoming and current students, provided that they serve a multicultural organization on campus for one year.

The school has also opened nominations for its Excellence in Diversity Awards, worth $1,000 for individual awardee(s) and $2,000 for team(s) who win the award.  While the Excellence in Diversity Awards ostensibly award those who promote “inclusive excellence,” the information page does not detail how “excellence” — something which is by definition “exclusive” — will be “inclusive.”
